SUMMARY:
An established international chemical distributor is actively seeking the above to be responsible for testing samples, documenting results, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring compliance with ISO 17025:2017 while supporting lab operations through reporting and inventory management.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a B. Sc. degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Material Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ proven experience working with construction chemicals (grouts, adhesives, waterproofing, cementitious coatings, screed, epoxies etc.) in a lab environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively across technical, regulatory, safety, and quality functions
- Solid project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage workload efficiently
- Ability to compile reports and present results; willing to participate in customer training days and virtual meetings with colleagues across regions
- Resilient and capable of multi-tasking and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to complex or challenging situations while maintaining high standards
- Solution-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
- Comfortable working with numbers and data analysis
- Skilled in producing professional emails, reports, and presentations using standard IT tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
The successful candidate will be responsible for:- Applying and testing customer and internal project samples as per lab orders issued by Technical Manager.
- Preparing samples for testing.
- Preparing test results in worksheets and signing off as "prepared by."
- Performing internal lab equipment calibration and intermediate checks.
- Being responsible for all lab equipment, including its maintenance and housekeeping.
- Participating in safety and quality audits as required.
- Updating lab capacity utilization and project status reports on a regular basis.
- Managing stock inventory and raw materials list, including samples, on a regular basis.
- Following safety and quality standards according to Wacker’s guidelines and certifications, such as ISO 17025:2017.
