Area Manager - Crop Protection / Agricultural Pesticides - Western Cape

SUMMARY:
A leading international Company specialising within the distribution of Crop Protection Agrochemicals requires the above to manage the Marketing and Sales strategies of Distributors / Agents in line with their assigned International Product Portfolio.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A Degree or Diploma in Business Management or Agriculture or related qualification is preferred.
• Previous experience having managed Senior Key Accounts and Distributors within the Agrochemical Industry is essential.
• Previous experience having worked within a Marketing and or Technical Sales or related role within the Agricultural Chemical Industry is essential.
• The Company will consider someone who has worked as an Agent or Distributor for the above role.
• Previous experience having managed people is preferred but not essential.
• The successful candidate should have a strong network within the Crop Protection and Agricultural Pesticide market.
• Strong Crop Protection chemical or related product knowledge is preferred but not essential.
• Must be able to work independently, be organised and driven with excellent communication and negotiation skills is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Oversee and Manage Customers, Distributors and Agents within the Cape and surrounding areas.
• Develop new business as well as visiting customers with Distributors to promote new and existing products, and offer technical input on various products to achieve sales targets.
• Determine and manage market strategies as well as identify market opportunities within the Agrochemical market.
• Develop monthly and annual sales forecasts and budgets.
• Manage and execute the Company’s PR strategy in line with the Company’s business objectives.
• Manage and oversee the planning and marketing of industry events.
