SUMMARY:
A top agricultural solutions company is seeking an Area Manager to manage sales agents and achieve sales targets within the Potchefstroom area, performing as part of a team creating solutions for farmers to achieve top yields with modern seed technology and traits.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a technical or commercial Bachelor''s degree
  • Solid agricultural knowledge and a good understanding of the local market environment are essential
  • Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies is essential
  • Strong customer relationship management skills and the ability to manage and direct a sales team will be required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are important
  • Proven leadership and sales experience are required

 
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Managing and coaching the entire team of sales agents to grow revenue and achieve sales targets.
  • Communicating important information and business strategies to agents.
  • Implementing and executing a solid Territory Business Plan on how to achieve targets, in line with company objectives.
  • Ensuring every team member understands their responsibility in achieving targets.
  • Ensuring delivery of forecasted results according to sales plans, utilising superior operative sales planning, forecasting, and monitoring (incl. price and product flow) mechanisms and KPIs.
  • Pursuing sales leads.
  • Visiting existing and new customers who may be of strategic importance to the organization.
  • Assessing customer needs and suggesting appropriate products and services.
  • Responding to more complex customer inquiries.
  • Negotiating prices and delivery times within limits of authority.
  • Concluding sales orders to meet revenue targets.
  • Managing the payment collection process for the assigned sales area.
  • Monitoring competitor moves and adjusting tactics as required.
  • Implementing and ensuring adherence to corporate guidelines and compliance policies.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience.
