JOB SUMMARY:

A global leader in Agricultural solutions is seeking a dynamic candidate, based in Kwa Zulu Natal or Eastern Free State, to lead the sales functions, develop the product range and to provide technical support to Distributors in the area, ensuring regular feedback to the Country Lead on ROI (return on investment) and cost margins

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a degree in Agriculture or similar
  • Previous experience in Agricultural sales will be required
  • Experience in the Southern Africa Countries is essential
  • Must be fluent in English language with excellent communication skills and presentation abilities
  • Good knowledge of pesticides, fungicides and herbicides is important
  • Must have a high level of Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point expertise
  • Ideally based in the Pietermaritzburg or Bethlehem regions
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Strong contribution to the Management team of South Africa, developing the sales strategy in the sales area.
  • Steering sales and consulting new sales initiatives and commercial policies on distributor level.
  • Managing sales in the area, monitoring actuals against budget and forecast and identifying risks and opportunities in the sales area.
  • Performing Key Account Management for the Distributors in the sales area, developing and implementing differentiation services / product offers in close cooperation with Country Lead and Marketing Manager.
  • Developing and implementing go to market (G-2-M) strategies.
  • Developing and implementing Distributor segmentation and developing a sales plan according to segmentation and commercial policies.
  • Planning and implementing Sales Operation Plan including Farmer Days.
  • Maintaining cost transparency for selling cost and a high-level forecast accuracy on future sales - develop strategies to close any sales gaps.
  • Maintaining signed distributor contracts with the company, Target Agreements and Rebate Programs with distributors.
  • Ensuring compliance, anti-trust and business ethics.
  • Ensuring personal development including skills development to ensure maximum job efficiency and job satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that the Country Lead, Demand Planning and Marketing are kept up to date with sales activities, plans, strategies and budgets.
  • Ensuring that all sales activities and plans are aligned with Parent Product and Brand Strategy as set out by the company.
  • Managing and maintaining rebate programs with all distributors.
Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
