Our client, a provider of safety systems and services to the mining industry, is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead field service operations in the Northern Cape. This role is responsible for managing the delivery of on-site services to mining clients, ensuring SLA performance, staff management, and operational efficiency across coal and hard rock operations.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage subordinates, facilitating interdepartmental communication and resource allocation Manage performance of direct operations staff, including discipline and development Monitor SLA performance and drive corrective action where targets are at risk Attend client meetings as scheduled and provide meaningful reporting to senior management Design strategies to ensure day-to-day services are controlled and client needs are met Recommend and design policies to reduce costs and improve service efficiency Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification Trade Test in Electrical Engineering Flameproof and Gas Testing qualification 5 years' managerial experience within a mining environment Valid driver's license and own transport Own accommodation in the Northern Cape area Computer literate Job Requirements: Knowledge of mining legislation (OHS Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act, Environmental Legislation Act) Understanding of the Labour Relations Act and Basic Conditions of Employment Act Knowledge of engineering codes of practice within coal and hard rock operations in SA Up-to-date knowledge of electrical\/electronic engineering practices and technologies Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work under pressure and engage with clients at management level Please note: if you have not heard back from us within two weeks of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.
