IZI Secure has a vacancy for an Armed Guard to be based in Pinetown. Security Guard responsibilities include: â— Protecting company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment. â— Observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigating disturbances. â— Acting lawfully in direct defence of life or property. Job brief â— The protection of designated people, high-value assets, and facilities from violent crimes and threats. â— The active armed intervention, patrolling high-risk areas, responding to alarms, and managing crisis situations while strictly adhering to legal frameworks regarding the use of force. â— Security Guard is to protect the designated premises, assets, and personnel. You will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent\/report all illegal or inappropriate actions. â— The goal is to detect, deter, observe, and report. Responsibilities â— Active Protection: Safeguard VIPs, high-profile individuals, and sensitive locations from harassment, theft, and physical attack. â— Alarm Response: Conduct fast-paced responses to panic signals and security breaches, acting as a deterrent until public law enforcement arrives. â— Access Control: Monitor entry points, verify the identity of visitors, and manage the ingress and egress of people and high-value vehicles. â— Patrol & Surveillance: Patrol designated properties to maintain order, spot safety hazards (e.g., fire hazards, broken locks), and deter criminal activity. â— Incident Reporting: Write and submit detailed, objective reports for every noteworthy development, breach of protocol, or suspected crime. â— Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment. â— Observe signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances. â— Act lawfully in direct defence of life or property. â— Apprehend criminals and evict violators. â— Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences. â— Report in detail any suspicious incidents. â— Patrol randomly or regularly (at least every hour) the building and perimeter. â— Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates. â— Liaise with the National Control Centre (NCC) regarding any problems or incidents. â— Complete the register daily, get OB numbers from the NCC daily. â— Report defective equipment \/ safety gear immediately. â— Always keep the guardhouse area clean and tidy. â— Any person entering after hours must consent to be searched on exit. Requirements and skills â— Basic Education: A high school diploma (or equivalent, such as a Matric certificate) is typically required, but Grade 10 is also acceptable. â— Proven work experience as a Security Guard or relevant position. â— Trained security officer with Certificate. â— PSIRA registered. â— Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment. â— Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures\/protocols. â— Surveillance skills and detail orientation. â— Honesty, integrity and professionalism. â— Great communication skills. â— Firearms Competency (Handgun and Rifle) for Business purposes
