JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is seeking to appoint a Artisan Boilermaker who will be responsible for the repair and construction of all steelwork, pipelines, chutes and other areas of the plant requiring steel construction. The Artisan Boilermaker reports to the Site Engineering Foreman and will be required to work rotational shifts with the other artisan boilermakers, to cover the Smelter Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset care & Maintenance: executing all planned and unplanned maintenance within the specified time frame and quality, giving feedback to the respective foreman.
Supervisory: mentoring & giving directions to assistants/junior employee as directed by the foreman
Operational Efficiencies: ongoing risk assessments, incident reporting, proactive maintenance
Health and Safety: ensure compliance to SHEQ legislations, good housekeeping
Quality: ensure workmanship is of highest quality, taking part in cost reduction initiatives
Technical Input: if required on equipment/materials to be procured

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum qualification of N2 is required or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (Preference will be given to candidates with qualifications higher than N3.)
Recognised Trade Test certificate as a Boilermaker. (Essential)
A second trade such as Millwright Trade Test (Red Seal) (Advantageous but not essential)
2 - 5 years steelwork construction experience, preferably in Smelter or similar environment.

This role will suit a qualified Artisan Boilermaker, with strong interpersonal communication skills and an in-depth understanding of fitting and machinery repair and construction, who wishes to add value and continue growing their career.
