POSITION INFO:

Our client, one of the largest independent producers of wheat in the country, situated in Riebeek West, is seeking a young, Assistant Accountant to join and support the Financial Team.

Key Performance Areas:

Management of creditors control and accounts payable (multiple entities)
Recordkeeping and invoicing between relevant entities
Monthly payroll processing and administration
Accounting up to trial balance
Year-end audit preparation
VAT, EMP submission and reconciliations
Assist with management of debtors control
Stock accounting, stock reconciliation, and variance analysis
Cost tracking and support of manufacturing operations

Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
Completed SAIPA articles and professional registration
3-5 years’ experience in accounts payable or creditors control
Experience in manufacturing environment will be highly favourable
Strong stock accounting experience will be a significant advantage
Good understanding of cost accounting principles
Excellent computer and software skills (SAGE and Pastel will be beneficial)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Outstanding numerical and analytical skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
A detail-oriented personality
High level of integrity
Good time-management and prioritisation skills
Ability to work under pressure
