Assistant Accountant

Our Client is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their exciting team in Midrand.

Salaries and Benefits: Negotiable

Responsibilities:

• To ensure controls and documentary support are in place for cash, stock and debtors
• To supervise the cash, stock and debtors functions and ensure accurate reporting
• To maintain the asset register and ensure regular asset verifications
• To assist with creditors as and when required
• To meet reporting deadlines
• To assist in various reconciliations
• Ensure quality of recons between depots & SAP.
• Assist with day-to-day accounting of transactions.
• Assisting in bank statement analysis for correct referencing and Fidelity shortage/surplus allocations.
• Prepare required monthly reports.
• Manage SAP queries.
• Reconciliation of certain GL accounts on a monthly basis.
• Reconciliation of certain Income Statement items on month-to-month basis.
• Liaison with Auditors during the Statutory Audits.
• Adhering to the IFRS.
• Working knowledge of SA Income Tax Law and VAT Act.
• Working knowledge of Sage SAP will be an advantage.
• Dealing with Banks, Fidelity and customers on need basis
