Assistant Accountant

SUMMARY:
A well-known wine farm , situated in the Stellenbosch region, are looking for a proactive, dynamic, and energetic Assistant Accountant to join their team. You will take full responsibility for the debtors and creditors function of the wine farm and assist the Group Accountant where necessary.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and responsibilities:
Creditors

• Process all approved purchase orders daily/when required
• Process all Supplier invoices/credit notes based on approved purchase orders and proper supporting documentation.
• Review and approve Supplier Purchase orders based on approved budget
• Supplier reconciliations, weekly and monthly preparation of payment packs
• Liaise with suppliers in case of enquiries
• Supplier bank processing
• Credit card and Petty Cash processing and reconciliation
• Calculate monthly creditors cash flow projection on a rolling two-month basis
• Compile Production File to be used for stock valuations
• Assist Junior Accountant with Asset Register where required
• Assist Group Accountant with insurance claims where required
• Assist with audit preparation

• All Functions relating to Debtors management
• Process sales invoices and ensure all supporting documentation is in order, accurate and complete.
• Monthly Debtors reconciliation and statements sent to customers for payment
• Liaise with customers in case of enquiries
• Debtors’ collection process.
• Calculate monthly debtors cash flow projection for a rolling three months
• Assist with audit preparation

• Diploma in Accounting
• Two years’ experience as accounts
• Prioritizes different tasks and executes them accordingly.
• Structures work logically and efficiently and executes accordingly.
• A team player who supports and works towards team goals.
• Accuracy, Quality & Productivity
• Output is accurate & error free.
• Deadlines are met.
• Takes ownership of issues and follows through to point of resolve.
• Demonstrates the necessary technical knowledge.
