Assistant Company Secretary

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
What you will be doing:

• Ensure all legal entities comply with legal, statutory, and governance requirements.
• Contribute to the optimization and continuous improvement of the department.
• Manage minute-taking and administration of operational and management committees.
• Assist the Company Secretary with corporate legal matters and governance requirements, including communication, training, and reporting.
• Collate information for various forums and committee packs, including operational and management meetings.
• Draft agendas in consultation with Chairpersons and liaise with committee members.
• Attend meetings and take accurate, professional minutes.
• Draft minutes for vetting by the Chairperson.
• Assist with drafting and execution of company resolutions.
• Maintain statutory and secretarial records (manual and electronic) and ensure compliance with CIPC.
• Ensure all companies comply with the Companies Act, governance principles, and other relevant legislation.

• A completed Legal Degree (non-negotiable).
• 2+ years’ experience in company secretarial administration.
• Insurance industry experience (non-negotiable – not banking).
• CGISA qualification – advantageous.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of insurance, financial services, and corporate governance.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Computer literate and detail oriented.
