POSITION INFO:

Our client currently has an opportunity for an Assistant Divisional Financial Manager to provide assistance with the management of the finance functions of a division of the listed group.

The successful incumbent will hold a BCom, CIMA, CFA, CA or appropriate qualification, have a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience, have sound knowledge of South African Accounting and Taxation policies, have cross border and foreign exchange knowledge and have experience with Pastel Accounting.

Position details:
Assistance in the management of the full finance function of a division which includes (but id not limited to) reviewing, reconciling inter-company accounts, cash book controls, authorize payments and allocation of expenses, maintenance of asset controls and approval for expenditure registers for all companies and VAT. All group reporting as well as some compliance duties.
Effective financial reporting and administration. Experience as part of the executive management team. Oversee corporate governance compliance.
Ensure appropriate management and financial accounting practices. Review sub-group tax calculations and returns.
Preparing financial statements.
Prepare information for meeting packs, project updates and other ad hoc financial reporting information. Financial reporting to local and international offices.
Preparation of audit packs.
Prepare budgets and forecasts, and financial reports for management monthly.
Advice on and review of finance-related matters (distributions, cash flows, finance issues, technical issues). Oversight and control of monthly payments to all suppliers and service providers.
Ensure correctness, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Ensure the sound financial control of the company, and the on-going operations of the projects. Provide assistance in business decision making.
Asset register management.
Assistance with matters relating to compliance in the group.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Grade 12
BCom, CIMA, CFA, CA or appropriate qualification essential. Minimum five years post-qualification experience.
Sound knowledge of South African Accounting and Taxation policies and practices a must. Cross border and foreign exchange knowledge.
Computer literate, Pastel Accounting, Microsoft Office, etc.
Proactive, analytical and strong attention to detail.
Management and leadership skills.
Own transport.
South African citizen
Willing and able to travel if and when required.
Registered with a professional institute
