JOB SUMMARY:
Our client a leader in fireplaces and an exclusive distributor of various premium European brands is looking to fill position of Assistant Financial Manager.

Below is list of duties which are not limited to.

  • Full Payroll Function - detail can be requested but including scrutinise of attendance register, calculating overtime, account for bonusses or incentive, updating VIP Payroll, posting salary journals, EMP201 submissions, Loading of salaries on the Nedbank.
  • Bi-Annual and Annual EMP501 Submissions via Easyfile & e-filing
  • Annual SETA/ Skills submission of Training done and planned training schedule for the new year.
  • Daily cashbook capturing of the various group companies
  • Loading of adhoc payments, creditors as well as foreign creditors on bank app.
  • Monthly credit card and petrol card transactional postings
  • Responsible for intergroup monthly transactions - invoices and Loan movements
  • Responsible for interest calculations and loan tie ups on various group and staff loans
  • Responsible for monthly rental invoices to tenants
  • Responsible for new lease agreements and offer to lease preparation when new tenants move in.
  • Responsible for creditor processing in some of the smaller companies.
  • To compile, verify and issue financial reports required by the business, which includes monthly/ quarterly and year-end, this includes Statutory Reporting of the group companies.
  • Required to assist the budgeting process and preparing the final budget submissions for all divisions. This includes working with business units to get the budgets uploaded on the systems and consolidate for presentation purposes.
  • Communicate finance information to the business as required.
  • Assist with Monthly VAT for the various companies
  • Assist with SARS queries
  • Assist with Provision al Tax calculations
  • Responsible for creditor applications: Completing & submission
  • Assist with annual stock
  • Liaise with the External auditors.
  • Assist with Tax Calculations at Year end and for Financials Statements.
  • Assist in preparations for Audits/ review: for example maintain and keep up to date Fixed asset registers; wear and tear registers
  • Various ad-hoc requests.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

INHERENT MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE):

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ general accounting experience.
  • B Comm with articles is the minimum educational requirement, with CIMA, or SAIPA advantageous.
  • Advantage to have worked within Retail Industry
  • Previous experience in Management Accounting within retail environment advantageous.
  • Proficiency in the latest Microsoft packages (Word, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint) is an essential requirement
  • Previous experience in SAGE Evolution accounting package advantageous
  • Previous experience in SAGE VIP Payroll package advantageous
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • A strong logical thinking and analytical ability with excellent numerical skills.
  • The ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail.
  • Has a high energy level, is performance and deadline driven.
  • Excellent planning, organizing and time management skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible, function under pressure and maintain a positive attitude and work performance in a variety of circumstances.
  • Ability to multi-task and to deal with complexities, use initiative to solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as be a team player.
