A leader in the international technology and manufacturing industry is looking to hire an Assistant General Ledger Accountant to join their highly advanced, growing team based in Cape Town.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A leader in the international technology and manufacturing industry is looking to hire an Assistant General Ledger Accountant to join their highly advanced, growing team based in Cape Town.

Your main purpose for the role is for responsibility of the integrity of financial statements through the data processed by accounts payable, the intercompany and the accurate reporting of the month-end figures, provided by the plant controlling. You will also oversee the reporting, monthly intercompany reconciliations, statutory submissions and forecasting of statutory payables.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

Liaise with intercompany partners and head office
Creation of month end payable accruals
Follow up and investigate intercompany queries and gaps
Maintain a minimal intercompany ageing
Prepare VAT calculations and submit the returns on SARS e-filing
Submit PAYE return on SARS e-filing
Ensure that the VAT General Ledger account is properly reconciled to the VATSA monthly
Complete and submit quarterly and semester statistical information to STATSA
Perform balance sheet and payroll recons and action all points raised during the Balance Sheet review

Your function will also assist the accounting department and the Reporting Manager.

Education Requirements:

BCom/BCompt in Accounting
Completed SAIPA Articles

Job Requirements and Skills:

2-5 years professional experience
Strong experience with reconciliations
Good knowledge with Microsoft Excel
Analytical thinker
Results driven
Excellent Communication skills
Ability to work well in teams
