Assistant General Ledger Accountant

Job & Company Description:
A multinational front runner in automotive technology manufacturing seeks an Accountant with completed SAIPA articles to join their team as a General Ledger Accountant. This role will be based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

The purpose of this role includes responsibility for the integrity of the financials through the monitoring and analysis of data processed for inter-company and accurate reporting of month end figures. The function is split into four main processes, namely reporting, inter-company reconciliation and statutory forecasting and submissions.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Liaise with inter-company partners and head office
• Preparation of month-end payable accruals
• Inter-company queries and analysis of gaps
• Maintain minimal inter-company ageing
• Prepare VAT calculations and submit returns on SARS e-filing
• Submission of PAYE returns on SARS e-filing
• Monthly VAT GL account reconciliation to VATSA
• Prepare and submit statistical information to STATSA
• Perform balance sheet and payroll recons and action all points raised during the BS review

Education:
BCom in Accounting / Finance

Skills & Experience:
Completed SAIPA articles
Strong SAP working knowledge
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Strong reconciliation skills
Analytical thinking and financial acumen
Strong personality
Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment
Team player
