Assistant General Manager – Transport & Mining Operations

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
Assist the General Manager in daily operations of the transport, mining, and workshop divisions
 
Manage staff and ensure efficient, compliant operations
 
Oversee fleet logistics, dispatch, and maintenance planning
 
Track mining production and support quality control processes
 
Monitor operational reports and assist with performance reporting
 
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and labour regulations
 
Be available after hours to respond to operational needs when required
 
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 5 years in a supervisory/management role within transport, logistics or mining
Technical background and some diesel mechanical knowledge

Proven leadership and staff management skills
 
Strong computer skills (Excel essential)
 
Excellent written and verbal communication
 
Attention to detail and ability to multitask
 
Professional, presentable and in good health
 
Valid South African driver’s licence
 
Hands-on, proactive approach to leadership
 
Strong problem-solving skills and resilience under pressure
 
Knowledge of earthmoving equipment, labour legislation, and general Health & Safety
