SUMMARY:
Stunning lodge in Liwonde National Park is looking for an ASSISTANT LODGE MANAGER to join their team.
POSITION INFO:
This position suits someone who thrives on streamlining operations while curating experiences that beautifully unite luxury, conservation, and adventure.
Candidate Requirements:
- 5 or more years of experience in lodge management, creating unforgettable guest experiences
- Excellent communication skills with guests, staff, and
external partners. Must be personable, empathetic, and diplomatic - Understanding of local customs and traditions to ensure respectful guest experiences
- Experience in leading, training, and inspiring a diverse team to deliver outstanding service. Foster strong professional relationships with other managers
- Ability to calmly handle emergencies and ensure staff and guests are well-informed about safety protocols
- First Aid Certified: Up-to-date first aid certification is required, with a readiness to handle any medical incidents on-site
- Will need a police clearance certificate
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Enhance the guest experience: warm hospitality, hosting, personalised service, guest safety and tailored experiences
- Staff leadership and development: team management, training & development and staff coordination
- Room inspections & maintenance: room checks, reporting issues and suggesting improvements
- Health & safety: guest safety protocols, wildlife interaction and first aid
- Environmental stewardship: promote sustainability
- Guest engagement & experience: hosting special experiences and community engagement
On Offer:
- 24 month fixed-term contract (with option to potentially renew)
- Work cycle: 60 days on, 10 days off
- Accommodation while on duty
