POSITION INFO:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the mechanical maintenance of the Asphalt plant and transfer skills on all mechanical related maintenance activities to the maintenance team. 
• Identify areas that can be optimized that will lead to improved quality of the health & safety status and plant performance requirements. 
• Compile investigation reports and share expertise with the team. 
• Develop and implement maintenance methods and procedures in liaison with the Asphalt plant management to improve quality of output, health & safety and plant performance. 
• Mechanical Maintenance of the Asphalt Plant and mechanical equipment. 
• Develop a mechanical maintenance plan. 
• Diagnose all mechanical problems. 
• Ensure adherence to procedures and systems for all maintenance works. 
• Develop procedures to timeously procure quality and relevant mechanical components for the Asphalt plant and maintain an inventory of components on hand.  
• Keep abreast with latest technology on mechanical engineering and maintenance. 
• Recommend the new technology in mechanical maintenance field and update all relevant procedures and plans after approval. 

REQUIREMENTS

• B-Tech/BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 
• Government certificate of competency (GCC). 
• ECSA Candidate registration. 
• 5 years’ experience in Asphalt plant or major plant mechanical maintenance environment, inclusive of 3 years’ supervisory experience
