SUMMARY:
JOB PURPOSE:

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mathematics Education.
Engage in research in Mathematics Education and related fields.
Publish research in reputable academic and peer-reviewed journals.
Supervise postgraduate students in Mathematics Education and related fields.
Participate in social impact projects in Mathematics Education and render appropriate services to the organization and teaching community.
Participate in academic administration and leadership.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A relevant PhD with Mathematics Education as the focus;
A strong background in Mathematics (Mathematics 3 or equivalent);
At least 10 years of teaching experience at an institution of higher education.
A teaching qualification.
Evidence of recent publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Evidence of postgraduate supervision at Honours, Master’s and Doctoral level in Mathematics Education and other related fields.
Experience in teaching mathematics education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Experience and/or knowledge of technology-aided education.
National Research Foundation (NRF) C-rating would be an advantage.
Departmental and/or Faculty leadership and management experience.
Ability to generate third-stream income or successfully apply for grant funding.

Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Supervise Post Graduate students
Conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed academic journals / academic platforms.
Participate in academic and community engagements.
Commit to a Professional Development / Continuous Learning Programme
