Our client is looking for a Automatic Guided Vehicles System Specialist to join their operations in Saudi Arabia.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description

• Responsible to operate and maintain all mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance on Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Automated Storage/Retrieval System (ASRS).
• Works with rolling mill AGV/ASRS team at a professional level handling engineering review, design, and analysis of AGV control systems and information technologies.
• This person is considered the AGV’s automation system subject matter expert, knowledgeable of and capable to implement best practices, strategies, and methods to increase overall equipment effectiveness. This includes routine / non routine activities, technical support, AGV systems inspection, data collection and troubleshooting, and reliability implementation.

• Takes reasonable care for his health and safety in the workplace. He must also take reasonable care for the health and safety of others who may be affected by what he does.   
• Cooperates with EHS team about any action they take to comply with the EHS Act or Regulations.  
• Aligns and provides technical support to meeting the operational reliability level specified for the MRC  
• Assists area engineers by providing advanced trouble shooting capabilities and resolves more complex technical problems to get the system / equipment back in running condition.   
• Provides recommendations for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance for rolling mill automation systems.   
• Participates, when assigned, in site inspections and safety, quality or production investigations.    
• Collects data and perform engineering data analysis, evaluates conceptual engineering plans, and prepares & evaluates the designs and plans according to specifications.    
• Ensures each maintainable automation system / equipment has a back-up plan.     
• Proposes revamping projects /capex projects, prepares scope of work and specifications to improve roll mill facility / equipment’s availability and participates in reviewing supervising and implementing the approved projects.   
• Strives in implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing (LM) and Reliability Excellence (REX) for automation through the rolling mill.   
• Provides on-site, hands-on mentorship to newly hired / newcomers rolling mill automation / electrical engineers or technicians includes training, coaching, and guidance to engineers for execution of automation and control processes.   
• Prepares, conducts training courses on automation to improve skills of operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering
• 8 years of technical experience in a similar field.  
• Demonstrated experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Distributed Control System (DCS) and Human Machine Interface (HMI), Automated Storage, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Advanced Process Control (APC), Emergency Shutdown System (ESD), and Machine Monitoring and instrumentation devices.   
• Ability in managing and applying the relevant engineering principles and practices in a rolling mill or relevant industry in automation / instrumentation field.   
• Data gathering techniques for organizing & interpreting data and ability to accurately compile, interpret and apply a variety of field notes, data tables and other information to engineering problems.   
• Ability to read and understand technical writing and to understand and interpret complex and technical information
