Automotive Product Engineer (Body components)

POSITION INFO:

Our client, a global leader in the automotive manufacturing industry, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Product Engineer (Body components) / Component Engineer to join their Product Engineering Division (Body, Electrical, Trim, and Styling) in Kariega. This is a permanent staff position with an excellent salary package and strong career development prospects.

• Relocation support offered for candidates outside the Port Elizabeth/Uitenhage region.

You will play a key role in the release and lifecycle management of body components and systems.

This includes:

• Releasing components for production
• Solving design-related issues across all locally manufactured platforms
• Managing part-level and software build records (BoM)
• Coordinating testing and validation of components and systems
• Driving cost-saving initiatives into production

Essential Requirements:

• National Diploma or BSc in Engineering
• Minimum 3 years in Supplier, Quality, or Engineering functions within automotive components (development, improvement, problem-solving)
• Strong initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills across all levels
• A fast learner who can grasp complex systems and components
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel as required

Advantageous:

• Qualification in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in driver assistance systems or e-Connectivity
• Knowledge of automotive metal, glass, and rubber components
• Ability or willingness to learn German and/or Portuguese
