POSITION INFO:
The Avionics Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading the development and verification of the avionics system, from need to qualification.

Responsibilities:

• Analysis of requirements and system functions.
• Specification writing.
• Translation of functional elements into practical hardware and software solutions.
• Simulation of system solutions and performance prediction.
• Prototype acquisition, integration, and testing of equipment.
• Plan, resource and manage the systems engineering tasks to achieve the stated objectives, including design reviews at applicable system level.
• Report on progress and risks per system or development project.
• Pro-active identification and mitigation of risks.
• Adherence regarding aviation regulatory compliance matters and statutory requirements.
• Support procurement activities with technical requirements, including sourcing i.a.w requirements.
• Support costing of avionics and electrical system solutions.
• Support process planning sheet preparation for avionics and electrical system integration.
• Manage avionics and electrical database.
• Support assembly line activities and queries on avionics and electrical systems.
• Support loom design and wire printing.
• Manage interface definition and wiring diagrams, including configuration changes.
• Support the flight test program and oversee mobile telemetry vehicle operations.

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics).
• Post graduate qualification in Electronic/Electrical or Systems Engineering and/or Project Management would be an advantage.
• Experience in military systems engineering processes would be an advantage.
• Experience in avionics and associated communication protocols (e.g. ARINC 429, RS485).
• Experience in the management of engineering teams would be an advantage.
