Job Description

We are looking for someone who will be able to facilitate and consult in terms of public participation meetings, consultations and stakeholder engagement projects.

• Prepare and compile information material related to resource and development projects.
• Manage and co-ordinate public participation processes.
• Facilitate public and authorities meetings.
• Prepare issues-response reports.
• Provide social input into the scoping and EIA processes.
• Provide support and guidance for more junior members of the Stakeholder Engagement department.
• Compile and review documentation.
• Direct and guide fieldworker teams and translators where necessary.
• Working in close collaboration with specialists from other disciplines.
• Liaising with clients and authorities.
• Compile and write reports for submission to the client and necessary authorities.
• Carry out business development activities relating to the Stakeholder Engagement Department.

Qualifications

• Graduate or post-graduate degree in a related field.

Skills

• Eight or more years’ experience, preferably within an environmental consultancy.
• Project management experience would be an advantage.
• Experience and knowledge of the resources industry (mining sector, oil and gas and renewables) would be helpful.
• Minute taking skills
• A demonstrated knowledge of public participation legislation and processes
• Ability to arrange and facilitate public and authorities participation meetings
• Project management of large, interdisciplinary projects
• Compilation of scientific reports and information material
• African or French speaking (advantageous)
