BI Business Analyst

1. Key Areas of Responsibility

• Initiate, facilitate, manage and implement projects of all description (either IT related or not)
• Proactively identifying enhancements on systems and processes within a business environment
• Facilitating sessions with all levels of users (from junior to senior) to identify requirements of a project
• Understanding the strategic drivers of a project and assessing solutions with all business requirements in mind
• Ability to make sound decisions and action them
• Taking specified business requirements, presenting them in a clear, concise document for IT to develop quality solutions
• Liaising with external suppliers/service providers effectively
• Liaising with System Analysts and Developers for technical development
• Taking ownership of all projects and ensuring that all stakeholders are involved and kept abreast of progress.
• Testing on development completed
• Implementation of projects/enhancements
• Managing the process on projects from initialisation to completion as well as post project support
• Provide training and training manuals where necessary.
• Assist with the test cycle - testing of code and solutions
• Identify and help resolve data reporting issues
• Assist fellow developers to optimize poor performing queries
• Be able to do data mapping and write SQL code
• Analytical Skills

1. 3. Experience and Qualification Requirements

• BCOM degree or Certification/s in Business Analysis
• System development project experience essential.
• Agile Project experience would be very advantageous.
• Project management experience advantageous.
• At least 5 years solid business analyst experience.
• Experience with data quality and database integrity exercises.
• Good understanding of relational databases, Excel and Power BI.
