JOB SUMMARY:
A South African insurance powerhouse based in Johannesburg North is looking for an experienced BI Business Analyst to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job & Company Description:

Join a well know and trusted insurance provider as an valuable asset to their BI Team. The successful applicant will be responsible for:

Initiatiating, facilitating, managing and implementing projects of all description (either IT related or not)
Proactively identifying enhancements on systems and processes within a business environment
Facilitating sessions with all levels of users (from junior to senior) to identify requirements of a project
Understanding the strategic drivers of a project and assessing solutions
Taking specified business requirements, presenting them in a clear, concise document for IT to develop quality solutions
Liaising with external suppliers/service providers effectively
Liaising with System Analysts and Developers for technical development
Taking ownership of all projects and ensuring that all stakeholders are involved and kept abreast of progress.
Testing on development completed
Implementation of projects/enhancements
Managing the process on projects from initialisation to completion as well as post project support
Provide training and training manuals where necessary.
Assist with the test cycle - testing of code and solutions
Identify and help resolve data reporting issues
Assist fellow developers to optimize poor performing queries
Do data mapping and write SQL code
Troubleshoot system problems

Education:

Grade 12
BCOM degree or Certification/s in Business Analysis

Job Experience & Skills Required:

System development project experience essential.
Agile Project experience would be very advantageous.
Project management experience advantageous.
At least 5 years solid business analyst experience.
Experience with data quality and database integrity exercises.
Good understanding of relational databases, Excel and Power BI.
