BI Business Analyst

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements from business stakeholders to create Business Requirement Specifications.

• Performs feasibility assessments and reviews to gain maximum value on BI deliverables.

• Create Functional Specifications for the Development Team to commence with the development of requirements.

• Perform data profiling and analysis on source system data to be ingested.

• Create and maintain source to target mapping documentation for solutions.

• Document test scenarios and cases for solutions to be implemented.

• Conduct and perform testing on all solutions to ensure deliverables are ready for UAT and Production.

• Maintain library of model documents, templates and other knowledge items.

• Conduct regular stakeholder engagement to identify business problems that can be solved through BI solutions.

• Manage day-to-day maintenance requests from users.

• Facilitate workshops with users.

• Conduct training sessions with users.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology OR Relevant Tertiary Qualification • Business Analysis Diploma (Advantageous)

• Business Intelligence Training (Advantageous)

• 3- 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst of which 3 + years must have been within Business Intelligence.

• Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, methodologies and Data Warehousing.

• Understanding of Agile Principles.

• Proven experiences in the Financial Services Industry and Insurance sector.

• SQL Query writing ability.

• Proficient in working with Relational Databases.

• Exposure and knowledge of Dimensional Modelling.

• Experience using front-end BI tools to develop prototypes.

• Proficient in Office Suite tools i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio.

• Experience in creating Specifications for Data Virtualization tools (Cognos, PowerBI).
