SUMMARY:
Our well-known client is seeking a highly motivated and results driven individual who has a passion for creating intelligent dashboards and reports that drive business decisions who will work closely with business and technical teams to create and maintain decision support systems for various departments. This position is based in Cape Town CBD

POSITION INFO:

Your typical day:

  • Work with business users to create specifications and requirements.
  • Gain an intimate understanding of the business domain.
  • Analyse and assess source data in various formats.
  • Develop new reporting solutions in line with best-practice BI standards.
  • Perform reconciliation and analysis of data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Data cleansing, transformation and preparation.
  • Improvements and Optimisation of existing Dashboards and Reports.
  • PL/SQL coding.
  • Ad-hoc scripts to facilitate user queries
  • Batch support
  • Documentation
  • Understanding and creation of complex ETL packages.
  • Participate in design, peer and code reviews.
  • Daily technical, functional and operation support for existing Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Provide input into planning and implementation of BI solutions in line with SDLC.
  • Basic ETL and process automation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  BSc or B Com in Information Systems or IT/IS diploma (Highly Advantageous) or substantial experience in Business Intelligence Development.
  • Training in Business Intelligence (Beneficial)

 

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum 3 years BI Development experience
  • Previous experience in retail systems an advantage.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Business users
  • Documenting technical requirement from business briefs.
  • Proven Report and Query writing ability.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts.

TECHNICAL - Essential Competencies

  • BI development.
  • PL/SQL or T-SQL scripting.
  • Data Analysis
  • Data reconciliation
  • Oracle BI or Power BI or Tableau or Qlik View/Sense
