BI Reporting Specialist

SUMMARY:
The purpose of the job is to work closely with the business analyst and data scientists to enhance the reporting platform and data resources. Preference will be given to EE candidates

POSITION INFO:

Our  client  is  an NPC with  a mission  to  mobilise  resources  that  enhance public  health services  through  collaboration  with  public  and  private  stakeholders,  and  is  uniquely positioned to collaborate with the Department of Health to improve service delivery.

The team has recently secured funding for a three-year project to support the effective use of health systems data to inform and improve TB, HIV and general health service delivery and  outcomes  in  the  Western  Cape.  

The  project  will  utilise  data  from  the  recently established Provincial Health Data Centre which provides an unprecedented level of data for clinical and operational purposes.

The  purpose  of  the  job  is to work  closely with the business analyst and data scientists to enhance the reporting platform and data resources.

Responsibilities:

•Assist in reporting automation, design and run queries for custom analysis and data requests, and maintain dashboards and general reporting activities,

•Develop  improvements  for  making  reporting  easier,  create  and  improve  reporting templates,

•Query and create views/tables, functions and stored procedures and reports,

•Create  methods  for  conveying  data  that  enables  end-user  to  clearly  understand results,

•Support the design and implementation of data warehouses for reporting purposes,

•Articulate and document architectural solutions and processes

•Act as a subject matter expert while attending technical and business meetings,

•Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements for the role:

•BSc  Degree  in  IT  systems  or  equivalent,  BI  Certifications  (MCTS,  MCITP,  MCSA, MCSE),

•Health qualification is advantageous,

•3 -5  years’experience  as  a  Business  Intelligence  developer  using  the  Microsoft  BI stack,

(e.g.SQL Server database, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI)

•Strong SQL skills,

•Knowledge of data warehousing strategies and theories,

•Experience  using  SQL,  Power  BI,  Cognos or  other visualization tools  to  build dashboards, reports and cubes,

•Adaptable and can work well in fast-paced, changing environments,

•Attention to detail and deliver work of high standard.
