BUSINESS APPLICATION MANAGER (IT)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Business Application Managers IT is responsible for managing the software applications within a business. The Business Applications Manager collects the requirements of the assigned business units, ensuring translation of those needs into services and projects and oversees the delivery to meet these requirements in an operational environment. Devise a program of projects based on size, complexity and affordability to ensure the ongoing evolution of the ecosystems.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Customer Service and Advocacy

• Regularly communicate and meet with key business stakeholders, key users and business leads to identify requirements, weakness and opportunities relevant to the business solutions.
• Keeping stakeholders informed of progress and challenges in order to manage expectations
• Ensure business satisfaction and IT portfolio success by managing expectations and communicating accurate status across stakeholders
• Support process owners and other key stakeholders to understand and enhance the SAP system and how it can further enable and automate business processes and add value
Portfolio Management
• Establish strategic direction for the business applications in consultation with stakeholders
• Drive business application innovation and development
• Proactively work with business, rest of IT and partners to understand the business demand pipeline and map the criticality, the urgency and the business readiness/feasibility of projects and re-prioritise and balance the project portfolio
• Oversee the execution of business application related projects.
Solution Architecture
• Leverage partner and subject matter experts to define and evolve a high-level current and future architecture and the roadmap to transform into the envisaged future architecture
Business Requirements and -Change Management
• Retain the BU demand / requirements management process for business applications from an IT organisational perspective
• Work with the business to clarify and refine business requirements and opportunities and coordinate work in the discovery and initial phases of an initiative to translate these into high-level specifications
• Evaluate benefits and risks of proposed initiatives by conducting impact analysis and/or business cases to justify the proposed changes
• Track and report value realization and list lessons learnt during and after project closure, leading Project Implementation Reviews
• Oversee the specification, development, testing and production cut-over of changes

POST REQUIREMENTS:

 Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
 SAP ecosystem BD experience including ERP, PLM, MES architecture applications, and implementations
 ERP solution- and functional knowledge relevant to an engineering and manufacturing environment
 Firm understanding on the SAP technology platform product capabilities and architecture
 At least 10 years’ experience in ERP and business applications
 Experience in business process improvement and digital business transformation
 Experience of managing relationships with internal business customers
 Strong communication, presentation, leadership skills
 Ability to work under huge and consistent pressure
 Team Player and must be able to function individually with minimal supervision
 Matured and highly professional
 Strong commitment to meet deadlines
 Good interpersonal skills and ability to think proactively
 Willing to work overtime when required
 Code 08 Driver’s License
