BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (Hybrid work model) – Cape Town OR Pretoria based

R35 000 – R45 000 Per Month Negotiable depending on qualification and years of relevant experience

Our Client, a Global Consulting Firm is currently expanding and in search of a bright, resourceful and tenacious professional to join their dynamic Business Development team.

You will support the business development team in business development research and analysis particularly taking place within the public sector (government tendering environment), maintaining internal BD databases, coordinating with internal and external teams on business development initiatives, and supporting the development of tenders.

One would describe you as a highly organized, efficient, self-motivated and confident individual who possesses high standards of achievement towards attention to detail and levels of accuracy.

You are a resourceful and assertive teamplayer who thrives when managing multiple tasks and deadlines across multiple offices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Bachelors degree or diploma in business administration, international development or a related field
• 4-5 years overall professional business support experience gained with at least 1-2 years of experience in business development or market research gained within an international public sector related environment with exposure to development partners such as GIZ, DFID, USAID, World Bank, EU, etc.
• Experience gained within a similar Management Consulting or Strategic Consulting environment and / or Global Engineering or related industry is advantageous!
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems, in particular experience gained in developing marketing collateral and presentations on MS Powerpoint
• Strong research and data analysis skills with proven proficiency on MS Excel

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Will include but not be limited to:

• Actively support the team in the development of content for expressions of interest, tenders and requests for proposals
• Conduct research to support all business development submissions under the direction of the BD Manager
• Analyse tender results and provide feedback to adjust business development approach
• Assist in gathering market intelligence and conducting research to support growth areas, as directed by the BD Manager and BD Lead and contribute to internal BD intelligence databases
• Gather material on key clients, geographic regions, and strategic programmes
• Support the BD manager and BD lead in developing content required for marketing materials for business development activities
• Input and maintain information on business development systems and tools, including CRM, opportunities portal, and credentials database
• Input and maintain data for reports to support progress and performance tracking
• Arrange and coordinate business development workshops, meetings and events
