Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent

Experience and requirements:

• 5 or more years'''' recent experience buying of steel & tube
• Experience purchasing locally
• Experience Interacting with a multi branch networks - Branch Managers, Branch Buyers, and Sales staff
• Intermediate to Advanced EXCEL skills and knowledge of Syspro would be an advantage
• Sound arithmetic skills
• Mature and assertive
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Good communicating skills
• Hands-on Import experience
• Strong planning and negotiating skills
• Reside in Pretoria
• Have a stable work record and contactable references

Responsibilities:

• Reporting directly to the Branch Manager
• Continuous review of branch stock levels and replenishment needs
• Identify & continuous review of both local and foreign suppliers
• Capturing of stock onto the system and ensuring correct groupings and descriptions
• Building relationships with local suppliers
• Maximise price, credit terms and transport/freight costs
• Track both local and international pricing trends and review impact on current stock cost, orders placed and price lists
• Monthly review of group/branches excess, slow moving, redundant and obsolete stock.
