Banqueting Manager
A prestigious luxury hospitality property is seeking an experienced and results-driven Banqueting Manager to oversee all conference, banquet, wedding, and special event operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless event execution, maintaining exceptional guest service standards, managing operational costs, leading and developing the banqueting team, and ensuring all events are delivered to the highest hospitality standards.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and oversee all conferences, banquets, weddings, corporate functions, and special events. Ensure all event requirements are communicated accurately to relevant departments. Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event evaluations with the team. Monitor event setup, service delivery, and breakdown to ensure operational excellence. Ensure all venues are prepared according to client specifications and company standards. Meet with clients to discuss event requirements, expectations, and special requests. Conduct site inspections and venue show rounds for prospective clients. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and guests. Prepare and communicate detailed function sheets and event schedules. Ensure all client requirements are executed accurately and professionally. Resolve guest concerns and operational issues promptly and professionally. Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction throughout all events. Lead, motivate, train, and develop the banqueting team. Schedule staff according to business demands and event requirements. Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs. Ensure all staff adhere to company policies, grooming standards, and service procedures. Foster a positive and productive working environment. Monitor labour costs, productivity, and departmental expenditure. Control food, beverage, and operational costs within budget parameters. Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and revenue planning. Review and analyse financial and operational reports. Process and administer system-generated reports and departmental documentation. Ensure accurate billing and reconciliation of event charges. Assist with stock control, inventory management, and procurement processes. Maintain accurate event records, reports, and operational documentation. Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and food safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections of banqueting venues, equipment, and service areas. Maintain luxury hospitality service standards at all times. Ensure all operational procedures align with company policies and industry best practices. Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. Collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Sales teams to ensure successful event execution. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification. Valid driver's licence. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Minimum 2 years' experience in Food & Beverage Management, Banqueting Management, or Events Management within a 4- or 5-star hospitality environment. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
