SUMMARY:
General Secretary

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for an experienced General Secretary (previously known as the CEO) to supervise and control all strategic and business aspects of the Council. You will be responsible for all day-to-day management decisions and for implementing The Council’s long and short-term plans. You will also be the direct liaison between the Board and Management of The Council.

 

To thrive as the General Secretary, you must be a prudent manager and an inspiring leader. The ideal candidate will have a business mindset and will be able to have an overall view in a variety of settings who will also take actions to enhance the footprint and scope of The Council.

 

The goal is to drive The Council’s development and guide it towards long-term success.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Strategic Planning and Implementation of developmental plans to achieve organisational mission, vision and strategic priorities.
  •  Human Capital Management and abilities to improve
  • Management of the Council’s Legal Compliance
  • Development of Financial Strategy and implementation
  • Management and Administration of the Council’s Intellectual Property
  • Relationship Management (with the Board)
  • Preparing and presenting reports to different structures of  the Council committees
  • Coordinate corporate communication with Internal and External Stakeholders Relations
  • Brand Ambassador
  • Promoting and Improve media perception of the Council

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Business Management Qualification (NQF LEVEL 8) or Equivalent qualification
  • Experience: 15 years’ experience in management  or similar position
  • Sound knowledge of ERP systems and the management thereof (SAP Business One advantageous)
  • Financial Interpretation Skills
  • Project Management skills
  • Legal Knowledge of L Labour Law

REMUNERATION

  • Remuneration: R782 345.00 (CTC) per annum
    • Basic Salary + Travel Allowance + Cell phone allowance + Pension Fund
