POSITION INFO:

Bartender

The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating new opportunities for Bartenders to join our Food & Beverage team.

We are seeking energetic, skilled, and guest-focused Bartenders to deliver exceptional beverage service in a luxury environment. The ideal candidates will have recent experience in hotels or upmarket restaurants/bars, strong mixology skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume operation.

Experience & Requirements

• South African citizen with a valid ID (non-negotiable)

• At least 2 years’ bartending experience in a hotel or upmarket restaurant/bar within the last 2 years

• No employment gaps longer than 5 months unless valid reasons are clearly provided

• Matric certificate (Grade 12) required

• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wines, and spirits

• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining service excellence

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Professional, well-groomed, and reliable

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• Team player with a guest-first mindset

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages, including cocktails, wines, and spirits, to hotel standards

• Deliver excellent guest service, ensuring a vibrant and engaging bar atmosphere

• Upsell beverages and promote specials to maximise revenue

• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the bar

• Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management

• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, safety, and hygiene regulations

• Handle guest queries and complaints professionally

• Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to support events and activations
