Basic Process Control System Superintendent

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Mining Industry, has an opportunity available for a Basic Process Control System Superintendent in the Sunninghill area.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• B.Eng./BSc. (Eng.) Degree
• 10+ years’ relevant experience
• Understand the principles of the mine to smelter value chain, and the impact of process control system software can have on the interlinked processes.
• Analysing problems or data that requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors
• Advanced Siemens PCS 7 (essential)
• Process Data Historians (Aspen IP21, OSIsoft PI)
• Knowledge of Mining and Smelting Processes
• Knowledge of ISA S88/S95, 99, and 18.2 standards
• Role of Front-end loading/ Pre-project planning in Capital projects
• Siemens PCS 7 (Advantageous)
• Siemens S7 S10 (Advantageous)
• Siemens WinCC (Advantageous)
• Siemens Profibus (Advantageous)
• Excellent understanding of PLC, Network and Fieldbus protocols.
• Expert level understanding of Siemens PCS 7 (10+ years hands )]
• Experience with Siemens PCS7 software standards migration
• Experience with Virtualisation and Hypervisors for Process Control Systems
• Alarm Philosophy Development and Alarm Rationalisation
• Good scripting and programming skills
• Experience with formal software development lifecycles.
• Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL

• Assess the effectiveness of existing OT network infrastructure with regards to integrity
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyse control strategy performance and data accuracy
• Lead the alarm lifecycle management process across all business units.
• Lead standardisation in terms of process control systems, including architecture, hardware, software, and block library
• Project Management
• Maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders
