SUMMARY:
Our client in the Mining Industry, has an opportunity available for a Basic Process Control System Superintendent in the Sunninghill area.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

B.Eng./BSc. (Eng.) Degree
10+ years’ relevant experience
Understand the principles of the mine to smelter value chain, and the impact of process control system software can have on the interlinked processes.
Analysing problems or data that requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors
Advanced Siemens PCS 7 (essential)
Process Data Historians (Aspen IP21, OSIsoft PI)
Knowledge of Mining and Smelting Processes
Knowledge of ISA S88/S95, 99, and 18.2 standards
Role of Front-end loading/ Pre-project planning in Capital projects
Siemens PCS 7 (Advantageous)
Siemens S7 S10 (Advantageous)
Siemens WinCC (Advantageous)
Siemens Profibus (Advantageous)
Excellent understanding of PLC, Network and Fieldbus protocols.
Expert level understanding of Siemens PCS 7 (10+ years hands )]
Experience with Siemens PCS7 software standards migration
Experience with Virtualisation and Hypervisors for Process Control Systems
Alarm Philosophy Development and Alarm Rationalisation
Good scripting and programming skills
Experience with formal software development lifecycles.
Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL

KPAs:

Assess the effectiveness of existing OT network infrastructure with regards to integrity
Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyse control strategy performance and data accuracy
Lead the alarm lifecycle management process across all business units.
Lead standardisation in terms of process control systems, including architecture, hardware, software, and block library
Project Management
Maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders
