Bill Auditor - Healthcare

SUMMARY:
A permanent position is available for a well experienced Bill Auditor at a multi-disciplinary hospital situated in a Cape Town suburb. Applicants must have good knowledge of hospital patient services and billing processes.

POSITION INFO:
Role responsibility:
Managing the financial and clinical risks of the business unit by conducting audits of patient documentation. Identify areas of weakness, recommend corrective action and monitor effective implementation thereof.

Knowledge of the following is an inherent job requirement:

• Hospital patient services and billing processes
• Good understanding of CPT/CCSA & ICD coding, especially speciality cases
• Understand funder contracts, scheme rules and exclusions/benefits
• Clear understanding and knowledge of hospital industry and practices 

Education and General Requirements:

• General Nursing Diploma OR Enrolled Nurse Certificate
• SANC registered
• Min of 3 years Case Management, Clinical Coding or Bill Auditor experience (essential)
• Computer proficient
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and complex environment 
• Clear criminal and credit verification due to job function
• Detail orientated
• Good self-management and influential skills
