About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position: Billing, Accounts & Bookkeeping Clerk

Stipend: R7200.00 pm

Location: Johannesburg (Midrand )

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Invoicing

• Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices to clients in accordance with firm policies
• Track and reconcile attorneys’ billable hours and disbursements
• Liaise with legal staff to ensure proper coding and narrative formatting for invoices
• Address client queries related to billing and follow up on overdue accounts

• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile firm and trust bank accounts, ensuring compliance with legal accounting standards and trust account regulations
• Maintain general ledger and financial records
• Prepare regular financial and management reports

• Record daily transactions using appropriate accounting software (Legal Practice Management Software)
• Ensure correct allocation of expenses and revenue
• Monitor firm budgets and assist in forecasting
• Support external accountants during audits or year-end processes

• South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
• Must not have participated on the programme before.
• Matric
• Advantageous: Diploma in Accounting.
• Experience in a similar position.
