POSITION INFO:

Role: Blending Room Operator

Location: Nasrec - Johannesburg

Start Date: Immediate

Qualifications:

• Must have Grade 12, Matric or NQF4 equivalent
• Diploma or Degree Food Tech/ Biotech/ Food & Nutrition or Analytical Chemistry
• 1-2 years relevant experience
• Must have a clear criminal record

• FMCG, Manufacturing sector experience is essential.
• Proven ability to manage, maintain and deliver against Customer requirements.

• Language Skills:
• Ability to speak and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with Management and co-workers.

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Accurate preparation of ingredients for blending into the oil following established recipes and methods.
• Confirm all ingredients, ratios and weights are correct.
• Ensure that the blending process is carried out accurately according to defined procedures.
• Ensure minimal product defeats and downtime due to blending operations.
• Take blended oil samples to lab for testing.
• Clean blending and material systems for product changes and shutdowns.
• Keep blending room and blending tanks area clean.
• Communicate any important information to the Production Manager, Supervisors and the QA Analyst.
• Is consistently on time and at work.
• Required to work overtime when requested to do so.
• Overtime may be required when needed to finish a production run, to cover for other employees absent from work, meet customer expectations, etc.
• Keep and maintain ingredient blending records.
• Maintaining traceability by tracking batch numbers.
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
• Immediately reports any problems with the equipment, ingredients and oil to the Production Manager, Production Supervisor bd QA Analysts.
• Watches for contamination in the product along any point of production.
• Participates in weekly plant GMP Audits.
• Other duties as assigned.
