Blueberry Farmer

Swartland area - Our client is looking for an experienced Blueberry Grower/ Farm Manager to join the team.

The ideal candidate will be a goal-orientated, driven person who is able to work independently.

Only candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities:

• 35Ha blueberry project
• Manage 35 permanent staff and 400 seasonal workers.
• Strong understanding of the employment act.
• Must be able to lead in a multicultural environment
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of management reports and European marketing standards will be an advantage.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Degree or diploma in Horticulture/Agronomy.
• 5 years of farm management experience preferably in blueberries.
• Computer literate /Technology driven.
• Mechanically orientated.
• Ability to motivate and work with staff.
• Understand the processes and procedures of “United Export Fruit”.
• Global Gap Experience regarding growing and packing.
• Knowledge of fertilizer and chemical application.

Remuneration:

• Above industry basic salary is dependent on experience.
