Boiler Operator

Our client in the Agriculture Sector based in the Kirkwood area is currently looking to employ a Boiler Operator

Requirements:

• The candidate must have passed Grade 12 (Matric) (Preference Technical).
• Accredited Boiler Operator Certificate.
• Technical Abilities.
• Minimum of (5) years’ experience in the Boiler Operation Field.
• Proven Computer literacy – MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Able to draw reports on excel.
• Valid Driver’s Licence (Advantageous)
• Own reliable transport (Advantageous)
• Must be of sober habits. (Essential)
• Good understanding of Health & Safety Standards (Boiler Specific)
• Willingness to work abnormal hours, overtime, and weekends. (Could be on short notice)

Responsibility:

• Operate and maintain high- and low-pressure boilers.
• Stock control off raw materials.
• Water sampling and treatment.
• Carry -out preventative maintenance.
• Accurate record keeping.
• Replaces worn parts as required.
• Perform routine inspection.
• Test the quality of water.
• Manual loading of coal.
• Good housekeeping in area of responsibility.
• Cleaning and preparing of boiler after hours.

The successful candidate must be willing to work nightshift /dayshift and be willing to be part of the maintenance team outside the fruit-packing period.
