SUMMARY:
A well established school, based in North Riding, Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Bookkeeper to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full bookkeeping function, cash flow management, and administrative duties within a busy school environment. We are looking for a professional individual who is not only financially skilled but also patient, approachable, and comfortable working in a school setting with children.

POSITION INFO:
ð§¾ Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
Manage and monitor cash flow and budgeting processes
Process accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
Prepare monthly financial reports for management
Handle invoicing, collections, and fee statements
Ensure accurate record keeping and financial compliance
Assist with payroll submissions and HR-related financial documentation
Submit required reports and documentation to HR
Support general administrative duties within the school
Always maintain confidentiality and professionalism

ð Qualifications & Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (essential)
3–5 years’ proven bookkeeping experience
Experience performing the full bookkeeping function, including cash flow management
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational and administrative skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Must be comfortable working in a school environment and be good with children
High level of integrity and professionalism
