Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial administration of the business, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, and supporting the efficient operation of the company's accounting functions. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping functions up to trial balance Capture and reconcile bank transactions Manage debtors and creditors accounts Process supplier invoices, payments, and customer receipts Prepare and issue customer invoices Follow up on outstanding accounts and collections Reconcile supplier statements and resolve account discrepancies Manage petty cash and cash flow records Assist with payroll administration and related reconciliations Prepare VAT information and statutory documentation Generate monthly financial reports for management Maintain an organised filing system for financial and administrative records Liaise with suppliers, customers, accountants, and other stakeholders Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric) Relevant qualification in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance Minimum of 3 years' bookkeeping experience Experience with accounting software such as Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Strong numerical and reconciliation skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Valid driver's licence will be advantageous Preferred Experience Previous experience in the plumbing, construction, maintenance, or related industry Knowledge of job costing and project-related accounting Payroll and VAT experience Personal Attributes Honest and trustworthy Strong work ethic Excellent communication skills Professional and organised Ability to work under pressure Problem-solving mindset
