Client in the Manufacturing Industry requires the services of a Branch Manager in Durban as soon as possible

POSITION INFO:

JOB PURPOSE :


2.1 Directing all operational aspects including:

Debtors/Creditors, Health and safety, Gas rentals, Rental Hire, Stores and Stock Management, customer service, Human Resources administration, Payroll and administration.


2.2 Skills Development - Providing training, coaching, development and motivation for personnel through HR.


2.3 Accounting duties - Developing forecasts, financial objectives and business plans


2.4 Providing complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost tip-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability.

4. JOB DESCRIPTION
The Branch Manager is responsible for the following:

Continually and daily
• Conduct daily targets to set the selling pace for the month
• Brand Awareness
• Interact with customers on a regular basis to ensure satisfaction and gain useful feedback
• Resolving customer problems as needed

• Merchandising and training of various retail outlets set up to display and sell our products
Weekly
• Oversee Sales Budgets and Targets per staff member – discuss with staff
• Weekly sales and operational meetings – feedback, motivate, strategize, marketing brainstorm sessions, weekly or monthly special incentives, new products
• KPI’s monitor
• Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration. Discuss competitors and the impact on our sales and customers
• Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities.
• Demonstrating and presenting the working of a product and its features, when required.
Monthly
• Organize marketing and networking events for staff promoting the presence and reputation of both the branch and company
Yearly/annually
• Develop and implement a sales plan for the branch
• Briefing employees on current sales, goals promotions and other relevant information
• Organizing marketing activities and events for the branch
• Budget of the Branch – oversees budget reports, preparation of budgets and analysis of budgets
• Personal liaison to Blue Chip Customers / Quoting on Bigger Tenders and or lower GP Margin quotes / Acquiring new Customers / Promoting healthy and honest business relationships, must be available at any and all times
• Promote and support local business, growing the business network, getting involved with the Community and Charity – Represent Company with loyalty, passion and dedication, professionally - Person must be able to perform a needs analysis, in order to accurately recommend the correct solutions to customers, profitably. Person must be able to interact professionally yet friendly with customers to create a trust relationship with customers – People buy from People they trust, never over promise.

Managing

• Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
• Needs analysis for existing and potential customers to meet their needs.
• Submit quotations to customers based on the price lists with relevant product literature.
• Managing budgets, allocating branch funds, and defining financial objectives
• Manages and supervises department employees, responsible for day to day supervision and leadership
• Keeping ALL areas of the business running optimally, keeping an open mind to marketing / research / motivation / operational – thinking out of the box continually to give renewed ideas, to keep up improvement, and staff morale at peak performance
• Direct all operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, Human Resources, administration and sales
Daily/Continually
• Ensure latest Supplier price lists are updated and shared with the Sales force
• Stock in Transit reports, and stock discrepancies
• Ensure stock levels are adequate and within sales parameters – only stocking top 250 products
• Creating specials on redundant stock to reduce stock days
• Improve / Maintain Back Orders – feedback on stock not received
• Stock checking, bins not allocated, Buy-Out maintenance
• Manage, Maintenance and direction on all departments to perform at peak performance
Weekly
• Operational meetings with all departments (Sales, Stores, Logistics, Health and Safety, Rental Hire, Gas Rental) discussing achievements, requirements, problem solving and brain storming
• Gas Sales – ensure all gas sales / returns are noted on the correct audit trail books, this is captured corrected on daily and monthly spread sheets
Monthly
• Gas Rental – Verify quotes are done correctly and invoiced for rental revenue as per paperwork
Quarterly
• Stock takes – prepare for stock takes, memo’s, tasks, notification are done. Administrator / Supervisor during stock take, ensure all staff are following correct procedures as per policies set out
• Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
• Share knowledge with other branches and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs.
• Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly.
• Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws.

• Recruiting, vetting, interviewing and hiring new employees, documentation as per regulations and Employment Equity with the assistance of the HR Department.
• Develop, maintain and optimize staff performance by identifying key capabilities, qualities and interests and matching this with available job opportunities within the branch
• Ensure staff know their job description, and have regular recorded meetings discussing their KPI’s and performance achieved

Finance
• Bring out the best of branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development and motivation.
• Audit procedures and policies
• Follow procedure on staff not performing as per regulations set out, following disciplinary code of conduct
• Evaluate staff performance and recognize achievements
Daily/Continually
• Verify and audit GP margins
• Rental Hire – identify and improve key problem areas Checking and Verifying till close and cash on hand for cash sales
• Cash Excel History – maintain all cash sales transactions, cash, card swipe, eft payments – ensure banking gets done timeously
• Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans
• Developing and maintaining forecasts, financial objectives and business plans – including Weekly Sales figures / Quotes / Maintaining and explaining monthly DIVIS / Monthly Flash Reports
• Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately within expenses budget, achieving targets and goals
• Petty Cash – check, authorize and verify that funds are allocated as per policies and procedures
Orders
• Submit orders by referring to price list and product literature
Weekly
• Cash Advances – Cash sales not finalized on K8 – check and complete
• Manage and authorize balancing of hire contracts between excel and K8
• Manage and verify that maintenance tracking and servicing of our assets
• Manage and verify all damages of assets are allocated correctly and applied
• Manage and verify that all repair orders sent in, are processed and completed timeously.
• Working weekly against budgets and targets and ensuring staff keep to their weekly tasks and performance required, providing training, coaching, development and motivation for personnel – setting the example for all employees
• Compile temporary payroll overtime and send to HR
• Debtors – Liaise with HO Debtors and assist with customer visits to get outstanding money owed in, send POD’s, assist in sorting queries, and service delivery
Monthly
Compile Monthly payroll overtime and send to HR
Service
• Services exiting accounts(customers), create solutions, obtain orders, ensure a smooth sales process from start to finish
Daily Planning
• Daily Planning and organizing of Schedule to call on existing and potential sales outlets and other trade factors
• Achieve Monthly and annually targets.
Reporting
• Keep Management informed by submitting weekly call reports and weekly planning
Logistics
• Vehicles – ensure weekly vehicle inspections lists are done and handed in

• Vehicle services – ensure that all vehicles are roadworthy, clean and have valid license, with services up to date
• Logistics – Ensure proper routing is implemented and maintained to keep expenses as low as possible
Other
• Building – checks that all equipment and premises are up to business standards and maintained
Safety
• Apply Health and Safety Standards and Regulations
• Health and Safety file – check and verify that file is updated
• Check that all Safety licenses are updated and valid – First Aid etc.
Other
• Any other job-related tasks as required from your Manager, Director or Financial Manager
• All positions can be required to assist in another division or position on the organization, for career path reasons, multi skilling of employees and in-house promotion and training, as per management discretion.

Minimum Qualification: Matric/ Grade 12


Tertiary Qualification: Will be advantageous


Experience: Minimum 10years experience in a similar role
