POSITION INFO:

Our client based in Pietermaritzburg is requiring a Building Compliance Officer to drive around an estate and ensure that all buildings (add ons and brand new buildings) are up to standard. That contractors obey the regulations as set down by the Estate - i.e rubble is removed and dumped in the right places, building sites are neat….. The other aspect of the job will be to ensure that the building is strictly built in terms of the plans… you do not need to be an engineer or construction person to determine this. Lots is based on common sense. A fair amount of technical ability is helpful. Ideally someone with a strong personality who will not be taken advantage of but more importantly, someone who will keep a track of all site visits and follow ups. The admin behind this role is vital. If follow ups are not made, a house can be built incorrectly and a huge costs litigation ensues etc and the estate has no leg to stand on. So a paper trail of interaction and follow ups re requests to amend things on site is vital.

This is an 08:00 -4.30 pm position.Â

• Solid administrator
• Someone fair and consistent
• Someone with excellent common sense
• 70% of the role has the individual driving around the estate checking on homes but the 30% admin is equally as important.
