SUMMARY:
To explore, find and win revenue-generating work through various platforms and follow up to ensure delivery of offering to client’s expectations.

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the Job: To explore, find and win revenue-generating work through various platforms and follow up to ensure delivery of offering to client’s expectations.
 
Key Performance Areas (KPA’s):
- Conduct market research and analysis for opportunities to grow market share
- Enable the development of new services offerings
- Promote TAP services in the region and the African continent and beyond
- Prepare responses to and submit EOI’s and Request for Proposal (RFP) as advertised
- Respond to direct client requests for TAP services
- Facilitate an integrated working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Establish collaborative partnership and Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding
- Establish and manage proposals and the proposal team
- Coordinate internal efforts for the purpose of pricing and technical submission requirements
- Facilitate the drafting of  contract documents, review and finalise
- Prepare project schedules and timelines
- Ensure compliance with the procurement/risk exposure requirements
- Produce reports for the bi-weekly business development meeting and present monthly updates on business development activities
- Prepare and attend exhibition conferences as per events calendar
- Supervise the Business Development Coordinators within the team.
 
Minimum Requirements: National Diploma in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years work experience in electrical generation, transmission or distribution industry. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is essential. Business development / tendering experience will be an advantage.

Other competencies and requirements: The candidate must demonstrate:

Good communication and report writing; networking, persuasion, prospecting, research, and closing skills.
The candidate must be professional, motivated to drive sales, be able to conduct sales planning, identify market needs and challenges, knowledgeable in the market and customer relations management.

Reporting Level: Head of Business Development.
