POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant certifications or professional training in sales or business development is a plus At least 5+ years of proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in the supply chain, mining, or related industries. Proven experience in managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing is a must. At least 3 years at senior management level having led multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication, interpersonal & negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels Results driven with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets Strong presentation skills, technological proficiency, & analytical skills. Team player Excellent time management, organizational skills & ability to work autonomously. Execution driven. Self-motivated and proactive Key Responsibilities: Business Development: Identify and pursue new supply chain business opportunities across various industrial sectors, including mining, agriculture, construction, oil and gas. Analyse customer and prospective client needs and tailor supply chain solutions to meet their specific requirements. Build and maintain a strong customer pipeline through cross-selling opportunities within the mining industry and other industrial sectors. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within prospective client organisations. Stay informed about client activities, industry developments and market opportunities to identify potential new business. Develop and implement business growth strategies to attract new clients, expand the customer base and achieve targeted growth margins. Manage the full sales process, from initial prospecting through to negotiation and deal closure. Implement business intelligence systems to identify potential clients and monitor pricing, materials, industry trends, market conditions and customer activity. Prepare accurate and timely forecasts for new business generation and annual budgeting. Compile monthly reports comparing actual business performance against forecasted targets. Assess the financial viability of prospective clients and conduct appropriate risk analysis. Consistently achieve individual and departmental monthly sales and business development targets. Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with new clients to encourage repeat business and ensure client satisfaction. Act as the primary point of contact for new clients throughout the onboarding process. Ensure a professional and seamless transition from business development to ongoing client management. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, including Contracts and Marketing, to develop and enhance strategic business plans. Work closely with the Contracts team to negotiate agreements and manage customer contracts, ensuring favourable terms, conditions and revenue growth. Collaborate effectively with Legal Services to ensure compliance with all applicable legal and contractual requirements when developing new agreements. Ensure the central repository of existing clients, prospective clients, proposals and related documentation is maintained accurately and kept up to date. Support the preparation of the annual departmental budget and oversee the management of personnel-related expenses.
