Business Improvement (BI) Analyst

SUMMARY:
this role will provide analytical, administrative and implementation support to the business improvement (BI) process. Develop strong business process improvement skills and insights into key department functions/ operations. Identify concerns on relevant data quality, provide context and provide business process information and data analytics.

POSITION INFO:

A tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) in a quantitative field like computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics or related field.

Experience in data extraction, transformation, cleaning, and validation.

Proven experience in working with large datasets and relational databases (SQL).

Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced).

Valid driver’s license.

Advantage

Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in quantitative field like computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics or related field.

A minimum of 2 years underground mining experience.

Certification in SQL, Power Platforms and Programming or as part of Degree syllabus.

Certification in Data Management and Enterprise Architecture or covered by degree

Demonstrated experience in data governance / data treatment/ data analysis in SQL, Power B, Access, Excel

Programming in R and/or Python.

Good progress on the BI team bench strength capability programme.

Technical Competencies:

Distinctive communications skills and ability to communicate analytical and technical content in an easy to understand way.

Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Provide input into improvement Ideas and support idea owners.

Interpret data and contextualize to provide insight to stakeholders.

Identify important variables and focus areas in the business and solutions to measure.

Provide input in the establishment and maintenance of business analytical databases, KPI repository.

Provide analytical and administrative support for the BI process.

Train and coach incoming bench strength candidates and graduates in training.

Facilitate meetings and sessions in line with BI methodology.

Ensure that all BI reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedule

Contribute to the identification, analysis and interpretation of BI risks within the operation and contribute to the design and implementing of strategies and systems to mitigate risk.

Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system with the operation.

Takes cognisance of and adhere to Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Manage and report on non compliance issues.
