Buyer — 5-Month Fixed-Term Contract
POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer to join its team on a five-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will procure goods, services, spares and consumables to support mining, crushing, workshop and ready-mix operations, ensuring reliable supply and cost-effective purchasing. Duties & Responsibilities Procure goods and services in accordance with company procurement procedures. Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms and service levels. Create and process purchase orders on the ERP system. Source and develop reliable suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and delivery compliance. Purchase mining, crushing, workshop and ready-mix plant spares and consumables. Track and expedite outstanding orders. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. Support cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure the uninterrupted supply of operationally critical materials and services. Build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Desired Experience & Qualifications Grade 12. National Diploma in Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain Management. At least three years' experience in procurement or buying. Strong ERP system experience, such as SAP, Sage, Accpac or similar. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Proven negotiation and supplier management skills. Valid driver's licence. Ability to meet the role's medical fitness requirements. A pre-employment medical assessment is required.
