SUMMARY:
Are you an effective negotiator when it comes to procuring stock from international suppliers?

Our client in Airport Industria requires an individual who is both customer-focused, and a strong negotiator when it comes to securing the best price without compromising on product quality.
Experience with import and export processes is essential, with German or Italian capability being highly advantageous.

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12, relevant qualification highly advantageous
Minimum 5 yrs experience in procurement/logistics imports & exports (daily basis)
Own transport with a valid SA drivers license
Pastel experience advantageous
Experience with Letter of Credit payment method - an advantage
Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint proficient
Must be a team player
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work independently
German language would be an advantage
Work permit, if necessary, must be available

DUTIES

Sourcing/procuring various products from local & international suppliers
Compiling of quotations for cross-trade & import shipments to customers
Liaising with freight forwarders to obtain air/sea courier quotations
Issuing orders to various international & local suppliers
Expedite and follow up with suppliers to schedule collections
Daily follow-up with suppliers on outstanding orders
Arrange & fast track shipments via Courier/ Air/ Sea
Updating customers on their orders and shipping delivery times
Keeping track of customers account in terms of payments due/ statements
Maintaining good relationships with suppliers and customers
Product calculation
Duties are not limited to the above, the position will also include other secretarial duties should assistance be required.

Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience
