POSITION INFO:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our procurement team within the Chief Financial Office. This role is pivotal in driving the acquisition of goods and services through the RFQ process in compliance with delegated authority, regulations, and approved policies. The Buyer will also support Capital Projects procurement needs as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate requisitions to ensure accuracy and alignment with required goods or services

• Conduct market analysis and recommend the best procurement approach

• Manage acquisition of goods and services within contractual targets and timelines

• Facilitate briefing sessions and site inspections with user departments

• Resolve procurement queries promptly and efficiently

• Provide inputs to procurement policies, procedures, and templates

• Submit complete acquisition documentation to Contract Administration

• Maintain accurate and timely filing of procurement documents on SharePoint

• Support internal and external audits by providing required information within deadlines

• Manage audit clarifications, findings, and follow-ups within prescribed timelines

• Contribute to monthly procurement reports and progress updates

• Engage proactively with stakeholders to provide updates and propose optimal solutions

• Participate actively in organizational forums and structures

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in public procurement and/or purchasing

• Strong knowledge of end-to-end tendering processes

• Familiarity with National Treasury Instruction Notes and PFMA is highly preferred

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
